Description

Did this as an entry for the Valentine's Day community showcase for Guild Wars 2. It's a painting of my human necro. and it's been a learning process all the way through. I've never tried fully painting digitally, but I've always been interested. This has been a huge leap versus my normal art style, and I feel I've finally broken out of my barrier.
Huge thanks to :iconkejablank: and :iconkingkaijuice: for both teaching me so much about choosing colors and what they mean. I've learned a lot about shading and what colors to pick as well as lighting. There's so much I've been taught and thanks to them tutoring and guiding me, I've managed to complete this. I'll continue practicing and hope to get better. Thanks again!

I like it. Your anatomy looks pretty good to me. Her eyes seem a little flat, the human eye takes on some very different shapes depending on the angle that they are viewed. Her head is slightly tilted back and slightly turned to the right (the character's right that is), I would expect the right eye to show a bit of the curvature of the skull. When you have such a slight angle it is sometimes much harder to get that subtle shape correct, that's where an artist may choose to take a bit of artistic licence with a pose but exaggerating the head turn a little. I like your overall colours, you have some nice shading, I think you could take this drawing in two different directions. Either blend your shading a bit more for a more realistic look, or add some solid lines for a comic look. Either way, it's a great drawing. The only other thing I would suggest is that you add a bit darker shadow under the chin to define it and make it stand out from the neck. <img src="orig02.deviantart.net/6763/f/2…">
